Will Santa wear his traditional red suit next year, or will it be a more protective shielding from the impending global disaster? Who knows? One thing about holidays is that we use them to escape the routine course of the year, but in times when we routinely ignore the global catastrophe, perhaps the holidays could be then used to think about calamity rather than about dinner and gifts?

Not your usual Christmas album, this compilation offers a way for artists to celebrate and perhaps do something a little different than what they are creating on other occasions, and also- some undercurrents of exhilaration and some anxiety from the ending of yet another year. Soon the night will be over, and in just few days we will have made yet another pace deeper into the 21th century.
